Population Studies. Challenges and Perspectives Conference

Cluj-Napoca, 1–2 July 2019

Centre for Population Studies kindly invites you to join the conference Population Studies. Challenges and Perspectives organized in 1st and 2nd July in Cluj-Napoca.

The main purpose of the conference is to review and re-evaluate the researches on population, either historical or contemporary, with approaches from various fields (history, historical demography, sociology, geography, medicine, economy, etc). It intends also to reconsider the role of population studies in designing the population policies as responses on contemporary issues such as migration, low fertility or population aging.

If you consider the opportunity to participate in the conference please send a 200 words abstract (in English) and 5-7 keywords to Luminița Dumănescu, at luminita.dumanescu@ubbcluj.ro, until 1st of April. Twenty minutes for the presentation, followed by ten minutes of discussions are allocated for each paper. Hopefully, the papers will be published in Romanian Journal of Population Studies, the peer-reviewed journal of our Centre.

Accommodation and meals

The organizers offer accommodation for maximum three nights (30 June/1 July, 1/2 July, 2/3 July) in the Universitas Hotel. Please express your needs of accommodation when you send the abstract.
A welcome cocktail in the evening of July 1st and the lunch in July 2nd are also offered by the organizers. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover the travel costs.

Hoping that our invitation will raise your interest,
Professor Ioan Bolovan,
Director Centre for Population Studies
