The conference Bridging Perspectives and Connecting Threads on Historical Health
Inequalities, Cluj-Napoca, 11–13 May 2026, is an event organized by Babeș-Bolyai
University, Centre for Population Studies and Faculty of History and Philosophy, in
collaboration with the Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Organized
within the framework of the COST programme CA22116, The Great Leap: Multidisciplinary
Approaches to Health Inequalities, 1800–2022 (GREATLEAP), this event brings together
scholars from across Europe to discuss historical health inequalities, with a particular focus
on causes of death, mortality and morbidity data.
